Facts of lamborghini ,Lamborghini Facts

Lamborghini, or Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. as it's officially called, produces some of the most exciting sports cars in the word. Some of the newer Lamborghini models are the Countach, the Diablo, the Gallardo and the Murcielago.
Fact 1:
Lamborghini is named after the founder of the company Ferruccio Lamborghini (1916-1993). Ferruccio Lamborghini founded the company in 1963 when he was 47 years old. The factory is located in a small Italian village called Sant'Agata Bolognese near Bologna.

Fact 2:

Ferruccio Lamborghini was a successful tractor manufacturer before he got interested in sports cars. His interest in sports cars made him buy many different high-performance cars including both Maseratis and Ferraris, but he was never really happy with any of them and therefore decided to built his own, perfect sports car,

Fact 3:
Lamborghini used to be an independent company, but today it is a subsidiary of the German company Audi AG. Audi AG became the owner of Lamborghini in 1998. Lamborghini went bankrupt in 1978 and was sold to Chrysler a long time before Audi AG became the sole owner of the company.

Fact 4:
The fastest Lamborghini is the Le Mans version of the Murcielago R-GT model. It has been reported to have a top speed of 370 km/h. The fastest street model from Lamborghini is the Murcielago LP640 with an estimated top speed of 340 km/h. Both of the models have a V12 engine with more than 6000 cc.

Fact 5:
Several of the newer Lamborghini models feature the familiar Lamborghini scissor doors that rotate up and forward on a hinge near the front of the door. The Countach, the Diablo and the Murcielago all have scissor doors, but the Gallardo does not. Both the Countach and the Diablo are no longer being produced, so the Murcielago is the only current model with scissor doors.

Fact 6:
No Lamborghini have ever been produced with less than a V8 engine. Most of the Lamborghini models throughout the history of the company have come with the legendary Lamborghini V12 engine, but the newest model, Gallardo, only have a V10 engine. No Lamborghini models with a V8 engine have been since production of the Silhouette stopped in 1989.

Fact 7:
The first Lamborghini was the 350GTV from 1963. It was extremely fast for its time with a top speed of 280 km/h. In 1964 a smaller version of the 350GTV appeared. The smaller version was called 350GT and had a top speed of 240 km/h. The Countach from 1974 was the first Lamborghini to go faster than 300 km/h.

Fact 8:
In 1975 did Walter Wolf, a rich Canadian businessman and F1 racing team owner, persuade Lamborghini to produce three super powered Countach models. The Wolf Countach had the same engine as the orginal Countach prototype and were able to reach a top speed of 315 km/h.

Future Reventon roadster ??

.

It’s not too hard to imagine the rumored Lamborghini Reventon roadster, just chop the little roof section and voilà la. But if the people at Global Motors are going to take the time to make a rendering, then we’re happy to revisit the idea of a 670 hp, €1,200,000 (about $1.6 million) roadster.

Lamborghini Sold its Last bull ............Reventon

. Thursday, April 9, 2009

Lamborghini delivered the last of its 20, one million euro plus taxes, Lamborghini Reventon cars this week, to a British customer of the official Midlands dealer, Lamborghini Birmingham.

"Our client was understandably delighted," said Lamborghini Birmingham sales manager Dominic Mulvey, who accompanied his client to Lamborghini's Sant'Agata-based factory near Bologna. "Lamborghini's President and CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, personally presented the Reventon to its new owner who then drove off in his new car."
The UK-bound V12 Lamborghini Reventon, number 20 of 20 with a minimum 650 hp and a top speed in excess of 211 mph, is the last of the Reventon cars, all of which were sold prior to its public reveal in September 2007. It is the only Reventon being delivered to the UK. The buyer, who wishes to remain nameless, is committed to driving his car rather than simply garaging it however, so the last Lamborghini Reventon may well be seen throughout the country at Lamborghini, motorsport and social events.

Lamborghini peripherals,stuff for christmas celebration

. Wednesday, April 1, 2009

Candles come in packs of two, one large and one small. Ornaments -- or as Lamborghini calls them, baubles -- come in packs of three. The ones pictured are glazed in Arancio Borealis orange, which is one of the Gallardo Superleggera colors. But you can get them in other colors, like Noctis Black, Telesto Gray, and Midas Yellow, if the orange doesn't suit your holiday decor.
For those who can't join you for taurean-tinged festivities, there are Christmas cards in packs of 20 featuring pictures of the Reventon. And for the person who has everything, there are even Lamborghini pencils, because we're quite sure no one has a set of those.

Celebrate a super lightweight Christmas with Lamborghini!

To celebrate Christmas Lamborghini-style, the Italian super sports car manufacturer has produced a pack of limited edition Christmas tree baubles.
The ceramic baubles in box-sets of three are finished in a special orange glaze, Arancio Borealis, one of four colours in which Lamborghini's super lightweight car, the Gallardo Superleggera, was launched earlier this year.
A set of slow-burning candles in the special orange colour are also available. With the Lamborghini shield imprinted on one side, the candles are as suitable for year-round use as they are for Christmas.
Lamborghini's Christmas collection also includes 2008 calendars and even a set of 20 Christmas cards featuring the €1 million Lamborghini Reventón, alongside the candles and baubles.
For Lamborghini enthusiasts who are more interested in what's under the tree than hanging off it, shoppers should head to their nearest Lamborghini dealer in London, Birmingham, Manchester or Edinburgh, for a range of ideal gifts from Collezione Lamborghini. Alternatively, the official collection is available on-line at http://www.lamborghini-store.co.uk/.
Cashmere scarves in two shades of grey, and gloves and jackets will guarantee a warm winter, while a whole host of stocking fillers for grown-ups could help solve Christmas shopping crises. Choose from key rings and men's cufflinks, to exclusive leather bags, wallets and briefcases. A new ladies' range of personal leather items, including purse, wallet and make-up bag, as well as an extensive range of clothing for both men and women, make perfect gifts for family, friends or colleagues.
For children, Lamborghini colouring books and crayons are ideal presents for junior car enthusiasts, while T shirts in ages from two to teens come in a range of Lamborghini colours.
And for anybody who's lusted after a Lamborghini car, don't disappoint them: model cars come in a range of scales from matchbox-size to 1:18, for pocket-money prices. And who knows, next year, it could be the real thing parked alongside the Christmas tree!

Lamborghini miura Spied

.

lamborhini has created a dazzling, new-aged Miura concept in the mold of the original, which celebrates its 40th birthday this year. The notion is similar to that of the Ford GT: maintain the classic's design ethos while modernizing the details and increasing the overall package size. The first Miura was bodied by Bertone, but this one is the work of the Lamborghini's Centro Stile studio's Walter de' Silva, newly appointed design director (who also retains design responsibility for Audi).
Billed as "strictly a concept" by President and CEO Stephan Winkleman, the Miura could be put into limited production if there's enough demand, say insiders. If built, the Miura would use elements of the Gallardo's space frame and the 512-horse, 5.0-liter V-10, mounted longitudinally, cutting both cost and development time. Emulating the original Miura's transverse engine layout would require a prohibitively expensive new transmission, says Audi concept development chief, Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg.
Hackenberg hints there may be less technology aboard, positioning the Miura as a more focused, raw-edged sports car. It's likely the car wouldn't get the Gallardo's all-wheel drive-system, with the additional benefits of saving weight and cost. Lamborghini will likely shop the car around potential customers, as Porsche did with the Carrera GT. If it can garner enough commitments--around 1000--then this nouveau Miura could get the green light.

Automobili Lamborghini has released the first photographs of a limited edition Murciélago LP 650-4 Roadster. The Roadster version of the Murciélago will offer an uprated 6.5 litre V12 engine that produces 650 hp (478 kW) along with permanent four-wheel drive: hence the model's LP 650-4 moniker. With 660 Nm of torque, top performance is at 0-100km/h (0-62mph) in 3.4 seconds. The top speed is around 330 Km/h (205mph).The special edition model will be produced in a limited volume (50 units only), with a Grigio Telesto exterior that combines grey bodywork with a special bright orange Arancio LP 650-4 featured on the front spoiler and sills. The LP 650-4 logo applied to the car's exterior is recognition of the car's increased power. The car features orange brake calipers and a transparent V12-engine cover, which shows off the V12 engine behind the driver.Interior features echo the car's striking grey-and-orange exterior: besides the orange touches, there is an asymmetric dash design, with black Alcantara Nera on the driver's side, including door panel and central tunnel, and black leather Nero Perseus on the passenger's side. The increased power of the Murciélago engine, from 640 to 650 hp, will be unique to the Murciélago LP 650-4 Roadster: it demonstrates even further the developments that Lamborghini is able to offer from a current engine, and creates the exclusive characteristic of the Murciélago LP 650-4 Roadster.

Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 images and specifications

With the new Gallardo LP560-4, Lamborghini once again sets a higher standard for super sports cars. With its new engine, permanent four-wheel drive transmission and new suspension, it delivers clearly improved performance and dynamics. In parallel, its innovative design takes the classic lines unique to the Lamborghini brand one step further. Powerful elegance has never been so defined before. The Gallardo LP560-4 is the successor of the most successful Lamborghini model of all time. Approximately 7100 Gallardo models have left the Sant’Agata Bolognese production plant since its launch in 2003.

''The LP560-4 will consolidate this success story,'' states Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. ''It will outclass its predecessor in every aspect; its dynamics are distinctly breathtaking and its design sets new standards. With the introduction of the Gallardo LP560-4, we will consistently continue Lamborghini’s growth strategy''.The powerful heart of the Gallardo LP560-4 is the new 5.2 litre V10 engine with an output of 560 PS (412 kW) at 8000 rpm. The increase of 40 PS compared with that of the previous Gallardo, and the approximate 20 kilogram reduction in weight, improves the power weight ratio to 2.5 kilograms per PS (hp) and thus enhances performance. The LP560-4 accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, its speed at 11.8 seconds is 200 km/h and its top speed lies at 325 km/h.

At the same time the new, highly efficient engine enthrals its driver with its direct fuel injection system - ''Iniezione Diretta Stratificata''. Despite its clearly increased power, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions have been reduced by a staggering 18 per cent. The engineers in the Sant’Agata-based Technical Department have also improved traction, handling and stability at high speeds. The redesigned four-wheel drive transmission, the new suspension and the optimised aerodynamics as well as the reduced weight and decreased friction between the components, all contribute to the overall improvements in the vehicle.

Thus the Gallardo LP560-4 presents itself as a cutting edge super sports car also suitable for the race-track. The car is also surprisingly suited to long-distance driving and despite its extreme performance capabilities is easy to control whilst maintaining utmost stability.A Lamborghini is and always will be a highly efficient athlete. Its extreme sensuality is based upon precision, performance and on spontaneous action. A Lamborghini’s elegance is that of stark, purist strength. This DNA of the Lamborghini brand is being continuously developed by the Centro Stile in every new car.

Thus the Gallardo LP560-4 displays the precise lines and clean surface edges in its distinctly minimalist design. Ornaments or embellishments of any form are alien to it.Evolution of form systematically follows the demands of function: the newly designed front of the LP 560-4 squats deeply to the ground which contributes to its aerodynamic efficiency. The enlarged and clearly accentuated cooling intakes meet the demands of augmented engine power thus increasing the air circulation vital to a vehicle as powerful as this. The spoiler, positioned low between the air intakes, improves aerodynamic equilibrium at high speeds. The rear diffuser has been newly designed, is more efficient with respect to its predecessor and, together with the smooth underbody, contributes to the excellent steering stability even at extremely high speeds. In sum, the aerodynamic efficiency with regard to output compared to that of its predecessor has been increased by 31 %. The Gallardo LP560-4 takes fast curves even more supremely. The designers in Sant’Agata Bolognese have excelled themselves with the clear-cut, pure, stark lines of the Gallardo LP 560-4. They also have demonstrated distinct attention to detail; the elaborate aluminium cap for petrol and motor oil are testimony to this, as is the rear camera which has been integrated in a small fin in the independent rear spoiler as well as the finely-crafted grille in the exhaust pipes.Despite its low exterior height, the Gallardo LP560-4 welcomes its passengers with a spacious interior. The sports seats are covered with either fine leather or Alcantara (upon request) and provide secure adherence and support. The position of the seats is very low, typical for sportscars. There is space behind the seats for luggage which complements the 110 litre front trunk. The wide middle console is one of the elements which characterizes the impression of sporty dynamism in the interior. It accommodates the standard Lamborghini multimedia system as well as the air conditioning which can be regulated on both the driver’s and passenger’s sides. Between both of these elements lies a newly designed module consisting of classically elegant flip switches. Seven round instruments in the cockpit with a new graphic provide the driver with essential engine data and a multifunctional display between the speedometer and revolution counter provides the driver with important information. The engine of the Gallardo LP560-4 is a completely new development. All that remains of the original V10 is the number of cylinders which, in this performance category, create a perfect and unique synthesis of torque, force of movement, sporty nimbleness, compact size and low weight. The engine has a 5204 cm3 volumetric displacement which, with 8.000 rpm creates the extreme 560 PS (412 kW). This results in the excellent performance per litre of 107.6 PS/lt. At maximum torque output, the engine yields 540 Newtonmeter at 6.500 rpm. The ample torque curve guarantees outstanding thrust from every engine speed. With an acceleration of 3.7 seconds from 0-100 km/h and a maximum speed of 325 km/h, the Gallardo LP560-4 shoots into the orbit of the most extreme and powerful sports cars.Despite the clearly improved driving performance of this super sports car, Sant’Agata’s engineers were nevertheless able to achieve a reduction in fuel consumption and CO2emissions by 18 per cent. Measured by engine power and performance, the Gallardo LP560-4 e-gear’s average fuel consumption of 13.7 litres per 100 kilometers, is extremely low.The engine in this new model lies lengthways in front of the rear axle – hence the model description Longitudinale Posteriore. The concept of the mid - rear engine is unbeatable in sports car production, with the centre of gravity being displaced next to the vertical axis, thus creating the car’s exceptional dynamics. Furthermore, it creates the basis for the Gallardo LP560-4’s perfect weight distribution with 43 per cent on the front axle and 57 per cent on the rear. In combination with the permanent four-wheel drive transmission, superior driving stability and road adherence are guaranteed in all situations. The crank case of the new ten cylinder of Lamborghini Gallardo is produced with an aluminium alloy. Separate cylinder liners are not necessary with this technology: instead, the liners, due to their exposure to the hard silicone crystals during the production phase, are bored directly out of the material. The connecting rods are made out of wrought steel and the pistons are produced from an aluminium alloy. The consequent reduction in weight, inertia and in friction losses contributes to the car’s inspirational torque. The engine is unusually wide for a V10, with a cylinder angle of 90 degrees. A definite advantage of this construction is the low centre of gravity. The reduction of the gravity centre height comes also from the dry sump layout of the lubrication system which also guarantees the reliability of the oil supply even during lateral acceleration and on the race-track.The new V10 uses the direct fuel-injection system “Iniezione Diretta Stratificata” as an innovative way to optimize performance results in part-load conditions. Here, the fuel is injected directly into the combustion chamber through the laterally positioned injector. Combined with the use of a ‘tumble flap’ in the intake manifold runners, this solution guarantees an optimized distribution of the gasoline in the combustion chamber (higher gasoline density around the spark plug, leaner mixture close to piston and cylinder liners) and delivers the basis for a highly efficient combustion system even with stoichiometric mean mixture composition. The direct injection boosts the extremely efficient ‘full load’ performance of the V10, reduces its knock sensitivity and thus enables the very high compression ratio of 12.5:1. The cylinder heads have been optimised to deliver a very quick gas exchange and the variable valve control system on all four camshafts improves the charge efficiency across the entire engine speed range.Such extreme power must be brought onto the streets with extreme reliability. The driver of a Gallardo LP560-4 can thus rely on the four-wheel drive Viscous Traction (VT) system, with the ‘4’ in the model name a reminder of this. Lamborghini already introduced this system with the Diablo VT in 1993 – and for good reason: four actuated wheels achieve more grip than two and permit acceleration earlier in the curve exit. The protagonist in the transmission is the central viscous-coupling which requires no electronic control. In this special Lamborghini configuration, the driving torque is distributed between front and rear – generally with a 30:70 front to rear ratio and, within milliseconds, adapts to even the slightest variations in road conditions. A mechanical differential on the rear axle provides up to 45% limited slip and an electronic differential lock at the front complete the four-wheel drive system.

Lamborghini gallardo LP560-4 polizia images and specs

A private ceremony was held at the Viminale Palace where Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. donated a police version of the company’s newest super sports car, Gallardo LP560-4 Polizia, to the head of the Italian State Police, Prefect Antonio Manganelli. The new Gallardo LP560-4 Polizia, which replaces the previous Gallardo in use by the Italian police force since 2004 has a 560 horsepower engine that can reach speeds of up to 203 mph. The car will begin service with the Lazio Highway Police Department in order to continue accident and crime prevention to sustain security on the Italian roads. Its predecessor is proof of Lamborghini’s outstanding product quality. Since 2004, Rome’s police force has had the first-generation Gallardo in regular police service. The sports car has clocked nearly 87,000 miles of patrol duty on the motorways of central and southern Italy, as well as on emergency medical transport detail. A second Gallardo, painted in blue and white police colors, has been in service around Bologna, Italy since 2005. Its odometer already shows more than 62,000 miles. Aside from regular servicing, neither of the super sports cars has required major repairs. In addition to the clearly effective deterrent offered by the presence and visibility of a Lamborghini on the highway, the technological equipment on board these vehicles makes them highly effective in the control of hazardous behaviour on the roads (high speeds, driving in the emergency lane, dangerous over-taking); the automatic recognition of number plate tracking and real-time transmission of images to the control rooms. The cabin of the super sports car is fitted with the latest advancements in police technology to immediately document the evidence of any transgression. The video system is positioned in the center of the cabin with a camera fitted next to the rear view mirror and a computer and recording equipment behind the seats. As soon as police officers discover a suspicious driver, they activate the ''Proof Video Data System.'' With the help of GPS data, the device can calculate the location, direction of movement and speed of the Lamborghini. This combined with the distance and time before intercept, accurately determines the speed of the vehicle being pursued. Using radio data transmission, the video system in the Gallardo Polizia transfers its images in real time to the relevant police station. There, the videos are stored and used for automatic number plate retrieval. This information can be used for immediate identification of stolen vehicles. In addition to its high tech equipment, the Gallardo is also fitted with the ''classic'' array of police equipment, such as a gun holster, police radio equipment and the ''Paletta,'' the traditional hand-held stop sign used to advise motorists and traffic offenders to pull over. Officers can then use a removable screen to show offenders their misdeeds immediately, complete with an overlay of all the associated data. The Lamborghini is used regularly for urgent medical transportation too. The luggage compartment in the front of the vehicle is equipped with a specialized refrigeration system for safe transportation of donor organs. For extreme emergencies, there is also a defibrillator used to restore a normal heart rhythm to patients by delivering an electrical shock to the heart to stop massive cardiac arrhythmia or ventricular fibrillation, and thus save lives. The 30 police officers permitted to drive the Gallardo Polizia receive special training in the use of the Gallardo’s medical equipment. Each person on the special operations team – which includes three women – has undertaken several days of driver training with Lamborghini, under the leadership of the Lamborghini test drivers. The basis of trouble-free everyday operation is the exceptional safety of the Gallardo LP560-4 with its permanent all-wheel drive and its refined chassis, which maintains stability even at the highest speeds. Lamborghini’s extremely high standards for product quality and reliability ensure that the Gallardo LP560-4 Polizia is always ready for duty. Now the successor is ready – a new generation Gallardo LP560-4 with the very latest in special equipment. The Lamborghini wears its uniform with pride, painted in accordance with requirements in ''blu Polizia'' – whereby the white stripes and lettering follow the Gallardo’s dynamic design angles. Its main patrol beat will once again be central and southern Italy, primarily on the motorway between Salerno and Reggio Calabria. The police beacon on the roof of the Gallardo had to be aerodynamically optimized being that the new police car reaches a considerably higher top speed than regular service vehicles.. Despite the extremely flat construction of the signal lighting, blue LEDs are fitted round the base to ensure the visual signal cannot be missed. The roof-mounted lighting is supported by further blue LED signals on the front, sides and rear of the light’s aluminium shell. A total of four sirens integrated into the front and rear of the Gallardo generate unmistakable audible warning signals. Just like its predecessor, the new Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Polizia is destined to be not only the fastest, but also the most famous police car – even beyond Italian borders. The Italian State Police uniform, and the unquestionable attraction of the Lamborghini brand, continue to arouse curiosity and interest. Thousands of citizens have the possibility to see the car for themselves during the many events organized to promote the vehicles in use. Alongside its daily operational duties, the Gallardo also has regular public appearance obligations, such as its role as parade leader every year in Rome’s traditional ''Festa di Polizia,'' or its escort responsibilities at events with historical vehicles, like the Targa Florio and the Milan – San Remo Rally. Its predecessor even represented the Italian police in New York City at the 2005 ''Columbus Day'' parade.

The Lamborghini Murciélago is a GT and supercar automobile made by Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. and designed by Luc Donckerwolke. It was introduced in 2002 as the successor to the Diablo. The body style is a two door, two seat coupé.
An open-top version called the Murciélago roadster was introduced in 2004 for the 2005 model year. The roadster features similar performance to the coupe with a more aggressive rear flank, as well as a considerably higher price tag.
The Murciélago sports a 6.2 L version of the legendary Lamborghini V12 engine, a six speed manual or six speed e-gear sequential gearbox and All Wheel Drive. It also has a rear spoiler that can be raised to an angle of 70 degrees, the side mirrors fold in to increase aerodynamics and side scoops that automatically open to the needed size to let in just the right amount of air needed to cool its engine. The name Murciélago comes from a bull that survived 24 sword strokes in an 1879 fight at the arena of Cordoba, and fought with such passion and spirit that the matador chose to spare its life, a rare honor. In another Lamborghini tie-in, the bull was later presented as a gift to Don Antonio Miura, a noted breeder, and went on to sire a line of famous fighting bulls. Murciélago also means bat in Spanish, and a Murciélago roadster is featured briefly in the movie Batman Begins. The coupe's base price is US$ 273,000, which is US$90,000 more than its smaller sibling, the Lamborghini Gallardo.

250 vehicles in an exclusive two-tone exterior design
Improved acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 4.0 seconds and improved top speed (315km/h)
The Italian sportscar manufacturer presents a limited special edition of its successful sportscar: the Lamborghini Gallardo SE.

The Lamborghini Gallardo SE (Special Edition) which is limited to 250 units is characterized by a two-tone body paint, an even more sporty interior and technical improvement. The basis for the Special Edition is the extreme, uncompromising and unsurpassed Lamborghini Gallardo.
The Lamborghini Gallardo SE is equipped with a permanent 4WD, 6 speed gearbox, aluminum space frame, ESP and ASR, ABS, ABD, air conditioning, as well as two front and two side airbags.
The color range consists of six alternatives: two grey shades as well as white (Balloon white), yellow (Giallo Midas), Orange (Arancio Borealis) and green (Verde Ithaca). The roof, the engine bonnet, the front and rear spoiler as well as the two side mirrors are painted in black (Nero Noctis) making them stand out against the body color. The rear lights are slightly tinted. The newly designed "Callisto" rims give an extra touch to the overall appearance which is complemented by the colored brake calipers (available in grey or yellow).

The interior design sets forth the two-tone concept by having all piping and stitching matching the exterior body color of the car. The Lamborghini shield is embossed on the headrest of the driver and passenger seat. The Lamborghini script is preciously inserted into the dashboard. The carpets are black having the borders again matching the exterior body color of the car. Needless to say that the entire interior is handcrafted in leather partially perforated and of supreme quality. The interior design underlines the new, more aggressive personality of this Special Edition. Exclusively for the Lamborghini Gallardo SE: an additional shield with the embossed vehicle identification number.

The limited Special Edition is richly equipped with standard features such as a rear view camera, which in combination with the build in multimedia screen facilitates parking. The sports suspensions with the sports steering wheel and in combination with the P Zero Corsa tire (specifically developed by Pirelli for more ambitious driving) are all standard features on the Special Edition. The long list of standard equipment comprises also an exclusive car cover.Upon request a vast range of additional equipment is available. A customer can choose additionally the robotized gearbox e.gear, as well as a navigation system (depending on the country), heated side mirrors, fully electrical and heated seats. A winter package (heated seats, side mirrors, heated wash jets, rubber floor mats, 12 Volt outlet), and a lifting system are also available. Standard tires instead of sports tires can be ordered without surcharge.

The Gallardo SE benefits from several technical modifications:The gearbox is now equipped with shorter gear ratios in the first five gears, enhancing the dynamic performance of the vehicle. The result is also shown in the acceleration from 0-100km/h in 4.0 seconds which improved by 0.2 seconds, achieving a top speed of 315 km/h versus 309 km/h previously. This is shown impressively on an e.gear equipped car with a feature called "thrust mode", optimizing acceleration and gear change from a standing start throughout all gears. The more direct and precise steering are additional modifications carried out to improve even more the superb handling of the vehicle.

The Gallardo SE will be available from September onwards. In Europe it will be available at a list price of € 141.500, -- excl.VAT.

Two years after the launch of the Coupé version of the Gallardo, Automobili Lamborghini had presented the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder at the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder is not just an open-top version of the Coupé, but is a completely new model. It has an attractive new design and a unique system for opening and closing the fabric roof that utilises the engine compartment to store the folded roof.
The Lamborghini Centro Stile and engineers from the Research and Development team have worked in close partnership to develop this new design and to bring these clean and sharp lines on the road.`

`
Design

The original design vision for the Gallardo was created in the year 2000 and this vision continues with the "open" version.
The dimensions of the Gallardo, combined with its competitive performance targets, ensure the car has an athletic compactness. The long wheelbase complemented by short overhangs dynamise its appearance. The Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder features typical and unique mono-volume proportions, which integrate the Lamborghini design attributes of purism, athleticism and sharpness.
The cab-forward cockpit is integrated in the body by a strongly-slanted front screen and tensed pillars. The complex surfacing is intersected by crisp graphics and its detailing, which is orientated towards optimum cooling, evokes a strong aeronautical influence in its proportions and formal language.

Roof

The roof raising/lowering system of the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder is based on an electronic control system with electrohydraulic actuators and comprises the following elements:
hood made from black fabric
electronic control system, integrated in the car's CAN-BUS network, that controls the movement of the roof
electric pump
engine bonnet (that also functions as a hood cover) made from carbon fibre
six hydraulic cylinders (four to operate the hood and two to operate the bonnet)
two electric actuators (one to lock the catch at the front of the roof and one to release the bonnet catch)
electric motor to raise and lower the rear window
The roof raising/lowering mechanism is extremely simple to operate by way of two push-buttons on the centre of the dashboard. And the whole operation takes just over 20 seconds.
The rear screen moves automatically while the roof is being opened or closed. This automatically-controlled movement always returns the screen to the raised position. The driver can also choose to have the screen in the lowered position (also with the roof raised) by pressing the appropriate button on the dashboard. There is also a "service function" that positions the roof so as to allow access to the engine.
Great care has been taken over the structural design of the Gallardo Spyder, which of course complies fully with all the relevant safety standards. The space frame has been reinforced in the area of the sills and the A pillars have been strengthened with the adoption of an automatic Roll Over protection system (comprising two "pop-ups") integrated with the air bag system. All these solutions, which place Lamborghini at the very forefront of open top car design, were driven by the need to present to the public a true spyder characterised by a pure design.

Engine and Performance

The new Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder features a number of important modifications to the original engine and transmission from the Coupé.
The 10-cylinder 4961 cc propulsion unit now develops 520 hp (382 kW) at 8,000 rpm.
The six-speed gearbox now has lower ratios (1st gear is 27% lower, 2nd gear is 13%, 3rd / 4th / 5th gears are all 6% lower, while 6th gear is 3.5% lower), which create a more dynamic

performance.

The steering is also more direct and precise and the suspension has been recalibrated.
Like the other models in the range, the Gallardo Spyder also benefits from aluminium bodywork and features permanent four-wheel drive.
And finally, its performance figures: the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder - which complies with EURO 4 homologation standards - reaches a top speed of 314 km/h with the roof up and 307 km/h with the roof down, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds.

Equipment

Amongst its standard equipment the following items are particularly worthy of mention:
power steering fluid cooler (for sports use)
automatic door locking at speeds of over 15 km/h
Lamborghini Multimedia System as standard (not available for Japan)
There are also new body colours available. In addition to those current range of Gallardo colours, the Gallardo Spyder is also available in the two special colours: Celeste Phoebe (light blue) and Verde Picus (green). There are also new colours also for the leather interiors: Marrone Janus (brown) as the main colour, Bianco Polar (white) as a contrast colour, and carpets in Marrone Janus (brown), Rosso Centaurus (red) or Arancio Leonis (orange).
There is also a range of optional equipment that makes the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder even more exclusive, including:
video camera on the rear spoiler (available also on the Coupé version)
new colour/perforated leather combinations for the dashboard, seats and door trim
contrast colour stitching
Other optional equipment (also on the Coupé version) includes:
a choice of colour and leather and/or Alcantara combinations
anti-theft system, heated mirrors, onboard computer, protective cover, "coming home" function, e-gear, set of two suitcases, lifting system, navigation system, coloured Lamborghini logo on wheel rims, rear spoiler, smokers' version
various packages to customise the car: leather package, carbon fibre package, branding package, winter package, travel set and sports set-up.
silver Callisto wheels
heated electric seats
coloured brake calipers

Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera (2007-)
Engine: 10 cylinders 90º V
Displacement: 4961 ccm
Horsepower: 530 @ 8000 rpm
Maximum speed: 315 km/h
Acceleration 0-100 km/h: 3,8 s
Weight: 1360 kg
LxWxH (cm): 430 x 190 x 117
Design: Centro Stile Lamborghini
------------------------------------------------------

With the Gallardo Superleggera, to be launched at the 2007 Geneva motor show, Automobili Lamborghini presents an uncompromisingly high-performance sports car. Thanks to increased power (an additional 10 hp) and a 100 kg reduction in weight, the new range-leading Gallardo Superleggera is even more dynamic than the already very sporty Gallardo. The weight/power ratio of the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera is only 2.5 kg/hp, putting it in the top lightweights of its class.

The Superleggera also has the fastest acceleration in its class. It needs only 3.8 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph); 0.2 seconds less than the basic model, and boasting speed and grit under various driving conditions.

The Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera is an extremely high-performance car: it includes a standard robotized mechanical e-gear gearbox that guarantees shifting without removing hands from the steering wheel. The new Gallardo Superleggera can be ordered through the dealer network starting March 2007: production volumes will be restricted to lower numbers than the standard Gallardo.

The Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera's engine is the latest version of Lamborghini's well-known 4,961 cm3 V10. Now 530 hp is reached in 8,000 min-1. The increase in power was made possible by the engine's improved volumetric efficiency through reduced intake load losses and by exhaust backpressures, together with optimized electronic control. Naturally, emission levels observe the strict EURO 4 and LEV II standards.
Higher power thanks to lighter construction

Lamborghini engineers decreased the Lamborghini Gallardo's already low weight when empty (1,430 kg) by another 100 kg (70kg in the USA) using advanced materials and technologies. The engine hood is made of visible carbon fibre and transparent polycarbonate, a type of material that guarantees lightness and also shows off the magnificent V10. The rear diffuser and underbody covering, the rearview mirrors, door panels and the central tunnel's covering are also made of carbon fibre. Further reductions in weight were achieved by replacing certain glass surfaces with transparent polycarbonate. For the interior, monocoque carbon fibre sports seats covered in Alcantara® were chosen to ensure restraint of the driver and passenger during the intense lateral accelerations that the Gallardo Superleggera is capable of achieving around curves.
Exclusive specification and options range
A comprehensive specification and extensive range of options will be available, with some exclusive to the Superleggera. The Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera comes with robotized mechanical e-gear as standard; a sports package including shock absorbers; and special suede-covered steering wheel. The car is available in four colors: Midas Yellow, Borealis Orange, Telesto Gray and Noctis Black. Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires (standard) on new Scorpius forged rims accentuate the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera. A few of the options that can be requested include the multimedia system with navigator and CD-changer; a rear video camera to make parking easier (with optional rear wing only); a Carbon accessories kit for the interior; a fixed rear spoiler; a four-point seatbelt (not for USA); tubular rear frame or fitting points for later inclusion (not for USA, Japan or Middle East); and carbon-ceramic brakes.

Lamborghini just rolled out its first entry in the seven-figure car sweepstakes. To be dubbed Reventon, it’s based on the Murcielago LP640, and it’ll cost a breezy one-million euros.
Only 20 are set to be constructed, and all have been already betrothed to high rollers who’ve reportedly ponied up more than $300,000 each as a deposit. Rumors had indicated the car was inspired by jet fighters, a prospect bourne out by the greenish dash cluster. It even has a gauge to track G forces, just in case you weren’t busy enough making that sweeping left hander off the back straight on track day. The official rollout will take place at the show tomorrow.

ASUS Lamborghini VX2 was first seen in January at the launch of Lamborghini’s high-performance Gallardo Superleggera and the parallels between this exclusive brethren don’t end there. Both are significant redesigns of existing products crafted to appeal to the extreme luxury market. Similar to Ferrari’s ACER relationship, this co-creation of ASUS and Lamborghini Automobili reflects the values of the other. On first glance, it’s the stunning yellow paintwork that attracts, and it’s exactly the same metallic Midas Yellow paint from the Superleggera. For those that want a ‘quieter level of sophistication’ the VX2 also comes in another of the Gallardo’s optional colours - Noctis Black. At US$2700, the VX2 is not cheap, but like the Superleggera, it offers ultra high performance and can be ogled for hours at a time thanks to its finish and craftsmanship and it’ll leave no doubt about your brand values even when people don’t notice your distinctive car keys.
Look under the hood, and the smell of leather wafts from the keyboard. The genuine leather finish and stitching design is exactly the same as you would experience in a Lamborghini car, and the ergonomically designed keys ensure not just great looks, but comfort too. The bottom of the VX2 features a stunning wheel rimmed fan for cooling ventilation. This metal opening is designed as a replica to the wheel rims on a Lamborghini.
The 15.4-inch high resolution widescreen ensures non-stop vividness with guaranteed zero bright dot.
Driving a Lamborghini, you would expect super fast performance and the VX2 experience is no different. Based on the latest Intel Centrino Duo Mobile Technology, Windows Vista operating system and NVIDIA GeForce Go7700 with 512MB video memory graphics power, the VX2 raises the bar on performances all-round. With these new levels of sensory pleasure users can enjoy an enhanced computing experience with blistering speed for both work and play.
The ultra connectivity of the VX2 also accommodates the need for a quick connection of peripherals, power and communication devices. A built-in high-resolution 240 degree swivel webcam and microphone offer sleek wire-free video communication without the hassle of external connections.
